St. Heshi

Her teacher spoke once of the great stone trees that once grew in its center. They were said to catch Divine power in their mortal-made branches. There was a time when one was built in his honor, he said, with branches sixfold: one for each student he brought to enlightenment. The Oracle said it was evil to cast such things. It was profane to capture what is not freely given from the gods. But that was the way it was, in the times before, when the land belonged to cruel masters.

Personal life

Personality

This one hears the whispers of court—scheming and revelry behind closed doors... It is obscured by pride and hidden intent, but this one sees through that. It is the Lord that guides you— calculating, strong, ambitious, with the vigor of Alkosh. But be wary. Even the mightiest nobles can be felled by a flick of a quill.

— Baandari fortune for those born under The Lord

Known in life to be stern and unyielding, Heshi's emotions have only dampened since contracting vampirism.

Spirituality

Devotion to The One

Heshi remains devoted to the Alessian Order's monotheistic deity known as The One. Primary to these beliefs is the understanding of Akatosh as the primary, singular deity of Time with all other gods being venerated as saints or greater spirits. She believes that there is no connection between Akatosh and Auri-El, the Aedric god of time, and actively resents the implication that they may be related. Similarly, she holds great reverence for Shezarr and considers her vampirism to be a blessing from Him.

Veneration of the Celestials

Who striketh from a distance, all heart afire with sympathy? The Lady, who bends bowing in the firmament, as it's meant thy firm bow shall bend like a lady whose darts speed true. Mark these words, Celestial.

— The Lady, the Guardian of Stars

Another important spiritual belief is that of the veneration of the Celestials that stems from her father's heritage. Heshi has a special dedication to both The Lord, the constellation that rules her birth, and the Lady, which reigns over the bow.

History

Birth

Heshi was born in Craglorn to Hesseva, a priestess of Akatosh, and Evmon, an Imperial battlemage. She was a welcome addition to their family as the pair had been trying to concieve for nearly a decade. Evmon attributes their recent success to their visit to Craglorn, his home.

Early childhood

Heshi was raised in a strict religious household in the Imperial City just before the establishment of the Alessian Order. Her mother, a priestess when she was born, became an oracle with important status in her community. She assisted her mother with many temple duties and came to know the sacraments and rituals associated with it well. Her father, one of the first generation of Imperial battlemages, spent months away from home at a time.

Education

Because of her privileged upbringing, Heshi had the benefit of an upper-class education. This included the tutelage of an elderly Ayleid, Ramhedirus, who was a resident of a neighboring Ayleid vassal state. She learned Ayleidoon and

Reawakening

For did not Al-Esh persist, speaking knives, though dead? And had not Pelin-Al been witness to her death, although dead himself at the death of Umar-Il? Then did Marukh know a Right Reaching, that one devoted to Proper-Life and Ehlnofic Annulment shall persist beyond the illusion of death—for indeed, the drive to expunge corruption can conquer even the Arkayn Cycle.
